OK, I finally did it. I sat down and did a little grazing – thank goodness it was for boots as I am still all kinds of filled-up on food! What I found is that most boots over $100 on the big shoe sites are leather so a tip for narrowing down your search is to search for boots under that price range. Here are some of the goodies I ran across:

Low boots -

Microsuede in lots of colors

Embellished with studs!

With wrappy ribbons (even comes in leopard…not that I am a fan of animal prints but…meow!)

Flat, ankle boot with buttons at the ankle

High boots -

These have a nice heel and a pointy toe – that is squared at the end. For those of us who don’t like looking like we might accidentally make a kebab out of someone

(I’m finding that many ‘Aerosole” boots are man made material – just so’s you know)

Stiletto heel with pointy toe. Not very interesting, but a basic (especially for the kebab lovers among us)

Scrunchy boots are fun!

Riding boots with fun buckles

And who can’t live without a pair of faux-suede construction worker/pocahontas/stripper boots? The horror…

…I really, really, really, REALLY, suck. That was so mean. No boots yet. Instead, just wanted to say happy holidays for those of you are enjoying a mean lentil loaf today (like I did – thanks Lari!) For those of you eating an animal abusing, earth destroying, air polluting, ‘butterball’ or ‘honeybaked’, I feel for ya. I really, really do. Literally, my heart hurrrts…agh..ack……i made a bit ‘o stuffin’!

Jeez, how I miss karaoke-ing the wrong words to old hair band songs. But what I do love are vegan purses and when great vegan purse-makers also make laptop bags I get really happy because now I can put my cutest macbook into the cutest case so that i can download old hair band songs so’s i can look cute singing bad karaoke.

And no, I still haven’t gotten around to the boot thing. I am having serious issues with drooling over so many things I know I can’t have. But I did see these pointy-toe, lacey-backed joggers (ha) …. not sure if they are vegan but for the price, I am assuming so. Maybe someone can confirm?

Who doesn’t love a British Invasion? November 10, 2007

Inspired by a recent download of Duran Duran’s “New Moon on Monday” I thought it would be nice to see what the Brits are up to. Alot, it seems. So I picked and nipped and, since none of you are sending me any goodies, chose Kate Moss’s TopShop. I don’t have to make excuses for digging the fact that one girl can make heroin chic chic for 20 years running (and still running) because, damn, there’s some cute stuff to be had.

For instance:

Who wouldn’t want to to rock a little, sequined, art nouveau-inspired dress?

or maybe you’re feeling the need for a lighter, brighter, flapper-inspired job?

or just maybe you’re really, really, really, skinny and really, really, really brave and feel the need to channel some Gwen Stefani?

or, heyzeus christo, let it be true, a tunic dress with a really cute T-back?

Well it is true, believe people!, and for the last little bit of proof, here’s a cute retro kid that you can eat too much in and probably not have to worry much about the size of your belly.

OK. I am tired. But I think next theme needs to be BOOTS. and then after that, outfits you’d wear only in Atlantic City. And maybe Vegas. Or possibly for Halloween next year. So give me some tips already!

The Animal Protection Institute has an Ebay auction going on until 11/11 on two limited-edition, luxury vegan purses from NYC designers NY Artificial.

The “Nena” designed by Jessie Kahn
The “Sophia” designed by Alex Guzman

The guys make BIG purses! They are incredible quality and can you believe it- biodegradable too!!! It’s like all you could ever ask for in an accessory that could very possibly save the world.

 Here’s the official info:

These bags come from New York Artificial (NYA), the first independent retailer to join Consumers for a Fur Free Society — an international program created and coordinated by the Animal Protection Institute (API) that recognizes retailers who have committed in writing to a no-fur policy.

Not only are NYA designer bags animal-friendly, they are earth-friendly, made with sustainable and biodegradable materials. Plus the bags are handmade in the U.S. and never in sweat shops.

NYA’s bags are gaining international attention and will soon be showcased on TLC’s Fashionably Late With Stacy London and on the BBC hit TV show What Not To Wear. NYA has also been asked to make a special line of bags for Lucky magazine.

Get your bid in! Maybe you need to start your holiday shopping (for yo?urself) early
